What it is
What are Gel-X nails?
Gel-X is a soft-gel extension system. Instead of sculpting length from scratch or gluing on a hard plastic tip, each nail gets a full-cover tip made of soft gel. The tip is bonded to your natural nail with gel and cured under an LED lamp, so it becomes one smooth, flexible layer.
Because the tip covers the whole nail, there is no visible line to blend and the set looks even from thumb to pinky. Gel-X nails feel lighter than acrylic, and when it is time for a new look they soak off instead of being drilled away.
- Instant length in one appointment
- Shapes: almond, coffin, square or stiletto

Is it right for you?
Who Gel-X suits best.
Gel-X is a good match when you want length right away, your natural nails are short or uneven, or you like every nail to share the same shape. If you would rather keep your own length and simply make your nails stronger, a builder gel overlay is the better choice.
Not sure? Book the set you are leaning toward and talk it through at the consultation; the plan can change before anything is applied. Once your set is on, a few habits keep it looking fresh:
- Wear gloves for cleaning and dishes
- Massage in cuticle oil every day
- Use your fingertips, not your nails, to open cans and peel labels
- Never pick or pry off a set; book a soak-off instead
Gel-X questions
Good to know before your set.
How long do Gel-X nails last?
Gel-X is usually worn for about three to four weeks. As your natural nail grows, a gap appears at the cuticle and the set becomes heavier at the tip; that is the time for a soak-off and a fresh set. The Gel-X wear and aftercare guide has the details.
Is Gel-X bad for your natural nails?
Applied and removed correctly, Gel-X is one of the gentler extension systems: the natural nail is only lightly prepared, and the set soaks off. Damage usually comes from picking or prying a set off, so book a proper removal instead.
Can I get nail art on Gel-X?
Yes. Any of the four nail art tiers can be added, from +$30 for simple accents to +$80 for elaborate or custom art. The tier is confirmed before service.
What is the difference between Gel-X and dual form extensions?
Gel-X uses pre-shaped soft-gel tips. Dual form extensions are sculpted with a form and gel, which builds a custom structure and curve. Both add length; the full comparison explains which suits your nails.
Can you remove a set from another salon first?
Yes. Removal of another salon’s product is a soak-off add-on of +$20, booked with your new set.
