What it is

What is a Russian manicure?

A Russian manicure is a dry manicure: no soaking bowl. The cuticle area is cleaned with an electric file and fine bits, removing the thin layer of dead skin that grows onto the nail plate, then refined by hand.

The result is a crisp, clean line around each nail. When gel color goes on afterward, it can sit close to the cuticle, which makes the manicure look neat for longer as your nails grow.

  • Dry technique, no soaking
  • Detailed work around every cuticle
  • Hand care included

Add-ons

Make it yours.

The Russian manicure itself is $60. Gel color is separate, so you choose the finish: a solid gel color is +$15 and cat eye, the magnetic gel with a moving shine, is +$25.

Getting a full set or overlay instead? The same detailed cuticle work can be added to it as the Russian cuticles add-on for +$15.

04

Hand care

Your manicure finishes with hand care, so skin feels as good as the nails look.

Russian manicure questions

What clients ask first.

Does a Russian manicure hurt?

It should not. Only dead skin is removed, and the work is slow and careful. If anything feels uncomfortable, say so and the technique is adjusted right away.

Is a Russian manicure safe?

When it is done carefully by a trained nail technician, it removes non-living skin only. Tell the studio about any skin condition or sensitivity before the appointment. What is a Russian manicure? covers the process, safety and aftercare in full.

How long does a Russian manicure last?

With gel color, the clean look often holds for about three to four weeks, depending on how fast your nails and cuticles grow.

Is gel color included?

No, gel color is separate: +$15 for a solid color or +$25 for cat eye. You can also leave your nails bare and polished-looking.
